French Pancakes

 
 

 

 
 

1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon B.P.
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons melted crisco [shortening]
1 cup hot milk

Sift flour, B.P. and salt.
Beat egg till light,
add hot milk & melted crisco
when slightly cool stir in sifted ingredients
beat untill smooth.

Use about 2 tablespoons to each cake.

this makes a oz Pancakes.

 

Taste and health benefits of Butter, Shortening (Crisco/Spry), and Lard are still hotly debated. Aunt Pit wasn't afraid of any of them.
